Taylor's Law School

Programmes Offered- LLB (Hons) - twinning programme with the University of Reading (2+1 or 1+2 full time)

Programme Structure

 The Reading Law degree gives students a solid grounding in legal technique and prepares students for further study or employment.

   In the First year at Taylor's Law School, students will study the fundamentals, which will provide the building blocks for the upper years. In the Second year, further core subjects are studied plus one optional module.

    Third year at the University of Reading, students can choose from a wide range of options. In each of those years, students will complete a more advanced piece of writing credit. Thus, allowing students to demonstrate their skills. A dissertation can be taken as a final year option. Students may also take an option from modules offered by other departments or schools, replacing the Law option.

Facilities provided for Law is the Moot Court! :)

   Taylor's law faculty possesses LLM qualifications from locan and foreign universities, as well as many years of industry and academic exposure. They are trained at the School of Law at the University of Reading on delivery of the law programme at Taylor's.

    Mentors also encourage and motivate students to maximise their learning potential and provide reports and references relating to their future academic or career choices. In a year, Personal Tutors will call for meetings with students at least three times. However, students may contact their Personal Tutors whenever they need.   Committee meets once a term to gather feedbacks from students on the academic and operational matters.
   Teaching evaluation is conducted periodically by the head of the law school, peers and student.
   Students are trained through Study Skills workshop. Topics inculde such as, academic writing, legal referencing, reading cases, how to write curriculum vitae and so on.
   Mooting and debating are essential exercises that are part of training. The Best mooters and debaters are selected to represent Taylor's in national and international competitions.

   In the Industry Linkages, Taylor's Industry partners also support the law programme by offering top students book prizes, appearing as judges for Moot and Law Debates and sponsorship for major events. Law School facilitates meetings between Taylor's law graduates and potential employers.
