Video Games Live 2012 in Malaysia

What an experience I had with my brother at the Video Games Live 2012 (VGL) which took place at Istana Budaya. Usually orchestras arent my usually my scene but I just couldn't say no to a new experience when I was surprised by Don with a pair of tics to this music event.

Went all excited when i saw the VGL promo video line ups. There was Final Fantasy in it! I am a FF fan, not so much of the game though but more of a FF Music fan! Bro got all excited when he heard Warcraft in the line up.

Well, VGL Live is a Orchestra-Rock Concert with a spectacular display of visuals, lights, lazers from the most popular video games of all time. Our Malaysia National Symphonic Orchestra was conducted by award winning music director & conductor- Emmanuel Fratianni.

Hosted by popular VGL creater- Tommy Tallarico. This guy could make the whole crowd at Istana Budaya have a good laugh. I like his casualty.

The last time VGL was held in Malaysia was back in 2010, Tommy heard the high demands from the gamers in Malaysia and decided to come back to satisfy our Malaysian gamers.

Norihiko Hibino who has a well-known video game composer has one of his company branch in Malaysia too because he Loves our Malaysian food. Woot woot!

Laura Intravia is such a talented individual. Her voice is so powerful its just mind blowing!! It was such an honor to hear her sing.

The whole concert last about 3 hours. And during the intermission, i bump into ol' highschool mate and ex-neighbour, Reynard!!
It was so nice seeing him. Well, he's quite a gamer geek so i wasnt all surprise to see him there.


Bump into Joey, a highschool junior that came with Reynard and also coincidentally was at Taylor's OIC Camp 2012 (a day before VGL) where I was the student ambassador and had to guide her group.




Though VGL did not play any of my favourite Final Fantasy emo songs or even the song from Warcraft's Wrath of the Lich King Cinematic Trailer. Y U NO play emo songs? :(

Oh well, it did brought me back to my childhood when they had a couple of familiar video games music played. It made me miss Pokemon....

In my heart, i also wished for them to play a song from Harvest Moon (Back to Nature) but i guess that isnt old to be recognized :(
It was pretty hot during my era though. ANY Harvest Moon fans here?!

After a wonderful experience at VGL, i have learned to appreciate orchestra a little bit more. This has also helped me to grow in my Media Appreciation subject.

Evanescence LIVE in Malaysia

     It was one evening after work when i saw a tweet that Evanescence will be coming to KL. I almost teared hearing the great news! Its been on my concert dream list and i thought they would never come as they had kindda vanished in the past years...I have always admired Amy Lee's amazingly powerful vocals!

     I knew I needed to go no matter what! Maybe this urge was the main reason why i dint score tics for this concert as i was kindda expecting to get it and i cant "expect" for anything because if i do, it wont happen. 'Its a thing'.
     Anyhow, i bought myself last minute (kindda cheap) Free Standing as i wasnt willing to pay the cheapest at RM180 for Rock Zone (imagine what i could do with that money). Being my dad, he dint allow my bro to tag along with me so i had to quickly find last minute to accompany me. @#$%^&* But it was great that Jason could accompany me on such a short notice.


It wasnt easy getting this shot of "Evanescence" at the back ground. It blinks according to the beat ;)



     Watching Evanescence singing LIVE almost put me in tears at KL Live. Speechless i stood watching her sing her lungs out. Been an Evanescence fan ever since before i became a teenager. I'd remember i'd used to rape the replay  button on one particular song so much cause it was my favourite and it still is, It is My Immortal :)

     The feeling of watching Amy  LIVE was when i was seeing one of my favourite singer, Leona Lewis. Both have amazing vocals!! Somehow, because of Evanescence's goth rock genre, alot people dont seem to appreciate it =/
Dont get me wrong, i like Evanescence, but not hardcore metal music kayy.

She flips her hair back and forth, back and forth, back and forth like no one's business ;)


This dude was so hardcore in rocking his head and his dreadlocks, i was afraid his brain would fall out. whaaat


And then when she stepped up to the keyboard, it was even more magical.

This was my spot for the night as i only entered the place late at 8PM. Waiting for my friend ma :)
It wasnt far back from the Rock Zone so i was glad. And the guy in front of me was pretty nice. He was very aware and would look back every now and then to check if he was blocking my view of Amy :)

I was also surprised that the Rock Zone was sooo full! Even more crowded compared to Simple Plan's concert a few weeks back. Was happy with my little spot that has the full view of the stage, if i was a taller it would've been perfect!




She rocked the stage like no one did! She loves this crowd too and said that we've raised the bar for other fans. Truly amazing when you could see her passion when she sang. Unfortunately, the concert was really short. Bummed that Evanescence's essence only lasted for an hour! :(
I think if i were to have paid, RM298(original) for the Rock Zone, i'll be super upset. Oh, 70% of the crowd were Dudes!

Apologies for the pretty grainy photos as my camera isnt a zoom camera and i wasnt up close in the Rock Zone to get a clear and nice shot. But i did try my best to get a couple of decent shots :)

Thanks Jason a bunch for also videoing most of the videos. Usually at concerts, i would be hanging in to hold up the camera, his time it was Jason turn to see what i have to go thru every concert in order to record the performances so it isnt just only in my memory :)



Earlier that day, i was just stressing the entire time. I wasnt even that stoked about seeing Evanescence in just a few hours but then it changed when she came rocking from the backstage.
Amy Lee played all my favourite songs!! So i guess that made up for the short concert.
Hope to see Evanescence back in KL in the future after she makes more of her amazing music! <3

Justin Bieber almost Gets Egged by Hater in Sydney & Beliebers Day Out

Shocked when i heard about the news..... Justin Bieber almost got Egged by a Bieber Hater!
Happened on the 29 April in Sydney during Bieber's My World Tour .

Come on, first the "Plastic Bottle" now eggs?

P/S; the once hot "Plastic Bottle incident" was actually a plastic bag filled with sweets & a t-shirt.
Thus, there was no harm intended by the fan.

6 Eggs were thrown by the hater who broke an entry and hid up at the Acer Arena rooftop.
It was a Miss. #EPICFAIL.

It was a 17 year old Austrailian teenage boy that made a big move on the Biebs. It was probably his 'Goal' to egg Bieber. Come on, which Bieber hater wouldnt wanna feel like they've spend all this time hating on Bieber and had achieved nothing...
Yes, he got the title indeed, which came along with Handcuffs . Escorted to the police station from his home.

Now, everyone loves bragging all over on social networks, am i right?
Thats how he was caught. Silly little boy.

A Belieber tweeted;

"Dear person who threw eggs at @justinbieber in Sydney, you now have over #9millionbeliebers after you, be afraid! We go harder than hard!"

It was smart of the teen to have been hiding up at the arena. That way, he was protected from any harm from the Beliebers in the crowd. I bet if it actually came from the crowd. That particular person would have been stampede on.

Here in Kuala Lumpur, I heard a couple of people that intended to actually attend Justin Bieber's concert and throw packet of  Nasi Lemak on Biebs. Well, come on, we know who would get hurt badly in the crowd.

Thinking of all these happenings around, It just makes your country/city have a bad image. We all are well- educated and thats just a shameful act.

If one cant help but have this thing called Hatred in themselves, no one is gonna stop them hating on the Biebs, but if they take it too far? Thats only destroying themselves. You know they care about Justin Bieber more than some of his fan does. And I dont necessarily meant 'care' in a good way.

So go on and keep hatin', but its a pity to see when the people mock others that arent Haters of Justin Bieber.

Everybody have their own opinion, who are you to judge them? :)

Weeks back, on the 16th April. I dropped by Curve to check out the Belieber's Day Out.

I wouldnt mind screaming my way for some passes to Bieb's Concert. teehee
It was real hot on a sunny Saturday afternoon. The heat was blazing thru the sun yet the Beliebers were there for the event. A very long line is where the fans were lining up to have a chance in getting those very precious Meet & Greet!


Too bad the Flash Mob which was pretty much suppose to be happening at Curve too was cancelled. I wanted to be there to support one of my babe, EleenaR, that was taking part in the FlashMob.

For a chance of the Meet & Greet passes, Fans were required to have a proof of purchase of the Justin Bieber's CD which will entitle them for a lucky draw.

Drawing an Orange pingpong ball from the box were the fan's best feeling of the day because they were the golden ticket to the Meet & Greet. Yes, i heard quite a number of screams in just a short period of time. I guess Tune Talk werent that selfish with the passes ;)

Hitz.fm crew were there to give out Bieber tics.
They were broadcasting LIVE too!

Dint stay for long as I went over to Starbucks to meet up with Feeq to help me with some stuff :)

The poor packaging had my CD cover come in cracks and scratches, Anyway, Thanks TGV.
I submited a lil 30sec video compilation in hopes to win the Red tics to the concert but I guess Im not like those other huge beliebers that I guess deserved to win it.

At least those effort and time to make the video, paid off to a RM29.90 worth CD . teehee!
