Last week, i attended the press screening of The Descendants at GSC MV, little did i know that it would be Trending Worldwide on twitter just yesterday after the Golden Globes Awards 2012.
As the movie took home TWO awards! 

Best Drama and Best Actor for George Clooney .

The first time when you hear the movie title "The Descendants", im sure some of you are thinking its a 'Horror' film. Because thats what i thought until i saw the trailer. "The Descendants" are actually referring to Matt (George Clooney) and his siblings that are the descendants of the Hawaii prime land.

Its a poignant film to begin with. This story shows how a family come together and deal with an issue- making decisions which results in the consequences or the outcome of it. Its one that some families may be able to relate to. It also brings in an element of responsible ownership to the heritage from your ancestors. 

Surprisingly, i found myself laughing almost half the time as they do add a little humour here and there. Just to give you a little heads up, there are quite a number of  "F**k" and vulgar words being thrown around among the family. The little sister will definitely surprise you ;)

Running time approx 1hr50mins. It may feel a little long for a movie like this, but i think that was an appropriate running time as a family matter isnt solved that easily or quickly.

You would also probably know Shailene Woodley(most left) from The Secret Life of the American Teenager. Shes very pretty.
And for the guys, she does appear quite a number of times in different bikinis ;)

In some way, i guess i liked the father figure he acted so well. He was a pretty cool dad.

When watching the film, i thought they had gone to an extend to make George look way old. Little did i know that in his current photos, he does actually looks that old. As my memory tells me that George still has (mostly) dark hair. Guess my memory was outdated. But they movie did make him look like a workaholic father that hardly hits the gym. George is still in a very fit state for his age at 51 years old.

Abduction Movie Review

Yesterday night, I went for a special screening of Abduction at GSC 1 Utama. So excited as I've been waiting to watch this, that i've been planning for months. This will most probably be the last movie i catch in the cinemas before my exam. And the Next to catch would be Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn? ;)

Here I've posted a non official trailer. WHY? cause the Official trailer basically tells you the ENTIRE Movie in less than 3mins. I hate it when trailer are like that.

I watched this few months back and these was what made me want to watch the movie as soon as it came out. Actually, i watch the interviewS on MTV News. But it seems like its "not available in our region". Weird cause i could watch it a few months back. Hrmmm~

Abduction Movie Review;

The very athletic-body heartthrob is back in a different genre compared to his well-known role as Jacob in Twilight. Matt Damon & Tom Cruise can move over (and say goodbye to their careers) cause Taylor at only at the age of 19 is doing very well in this action role.

I felt like the movie was a little short even though it was slightly over the usual, 1hr30 mins. Maybe it was because Im a fan of the Twilight Saga and this script is a little short for him. If the movie could have extended 30mins more to make the story filled with more details. Therefore, I felt the movie was a little rushed and everything happened so quickly.

On the other hand, i was jealous of his co-star Lily Collins mainly because theres a couple of making out scenes. BTW, i did notice a short Cut in the making out scenes. (I think they cut the part when it was, the clothes ripping, body touching, intense making out scene). *Pfft* You know Malaysian's cinema.

In conclusion, the storyline dint make it any more different compared to an Action movie. If youre a fan of action (and secretly probably Taylor Lautner too) you'll most probably like it. Its not only a movie for girls to go gaga over for Taylor but guys can also see lithe fighting skills in the newborn action star and also guys would probably wanna look up to Taylor for his perfect buffed body.

Why do you see this much used poster almost everywhere? Its cause he did this stunt himself!
Most of the dangerous stunt had a stunt master behind it but Taylor insisted on doing this action stunt himself as it was a possible one. He got little bruises here and there doing the scene a few times to get the perfect take but it dint stop him. It was definitely a proud achievement for him.

The intense making out scene that the cinema slight cut to be fit for PG13 rating.
If you notice, from the trailer you can see that he is ripping his shirt off. That Did Not happened in the movie ;)

Hot boxing turned fighting scene between Nathan (Taylor) & his Dad with a professional guiding them.

So this is how they film a running scene.

Sweet looking girl, Lily Collins. Alot of girls must've been very envious of her role being so close to Taylor. One thing i couldnt help but to keep staring was her EYEBROWS! Thick ones indeed.

And here it is, Taylor Lautner topless duringt he making of the movie! I know he couldnt help but being topless mostly thruout the Twilight Saga. Theres are a few scenes in Abduction where the director took advantage of Taylor's body and had him shirtless ;)

Lastly, here is Taylor Lautner in one of his first few movie films in the movie called Shark Boy & Lava Girl.

So proud he has come such a long way :)
I remember google-ing him after watching this movie even when i was a kid. Hahha!

Watch out, cause Taylor Lautner is the hot new hollywood star that be making his way to the banks!

How To Access/Bypass Blocked or Restricted Websites

I know Im a few months late after the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) of the Malaysia's Government publicly blocked our favourite websites by sending a letter to our internet providers to block or restrict the 10 file sharing/downloading websites.

When I heard the news, I hardly bothered cause I thought they wouldnt block my all time favourite; Megavideo. But when i saw the newspaper....to my horror, there it was....Megavideo.com listed among the 9 other blocked websites.

Megavideo was probably my greatest life discovery. I almost couldnt live without megavideo- not one day. So thankgod, within a week after the ban was enforced, i had gotten my normal life back- Life with megavideo.

 So here I've gathered a few methods on how to get your internet back to the way it was. As good as thou the ban dint even took place =D

Some of the methods below will too able you to access restricted websites such as social networking sites in your office ;)

Thus, imma try to make it real easy and simple for my readers.

 1. Proxy Servers 

A proxy server is a server (a computer system or an application) that acts as an intermediary for requests from clients seeking resources from other servers. A client connects to the proxy server, requesting some service, such as a file, connection, web page, or other resource, available from a different server. The proxy server evaluates the request according to its filtering rules.
Hence, Its also another way for us to gain access to any website that has been blocked by our company  such as Facebook, Twitter, Blogspot etc) or in Malaysia's case, blocked by your country.

What are the purpose of proxy servers?

- To keep machines behind it anonymous (mainly for security).

-To speed up access to resources (using caching). Web proxies are commonly used to cache web pages from a web server.

-To apply access policy to network services or content, e.g. to block undesired sites.

-To log / audit usage, i.e. to provide company employee Internet usage reporting.

-To bypass security/ parental controls.

-To scan transmitted content for malware before delivery.

-To scan outbound content, e.g., for data leak protection.

-To circumvent regional restrictions.

I personally have not tried all of them, But do note that some of them will not work for megavideo because the proxy server does not support the megavideo player.
By using the proxy server, your office's IT department will not be able to detect you surfing restricted websites. So no worries that you'll be fired from work :P

 2. Ultrasurf software 

Go > www.ultrareach.com. Click > Download button (top left of the page).

This software is portable; no installation required and you can put it in your USB to use it. With this software, you can bypass firewall, encrypt your activities , mask your IP address and bypass censorship or blocked site.

I tried this and it was working perfectly fine, i could watch my tv shows and movies on megavideo and then my connection started to get all effed up. I had problems even connecting to the internet. Thus, i stopped using it. Some people seem to be having no problems with Ultrasurf but it doesnt work for me. If you do not want to risk your internet being f**ked up which then I cant help you cause I couldnt even help myself (I think i had to do a system restore if i remember correctly) cause you cant simply just uninstall it from your computer as it doesnt even need installation.
So its up to you if you are willing to take a risk. I am just giving my readers the Option  :)

 3. I2P 

I2P (originally from pseudomathematical notation I²P, short for Invisible Internet Project, although it is not commonly referred to by this name anymore) is a mixed-license, free and open source project building an anonymous network (or, more accurately, a pseudonymous overlay network). The network is a simple layer that applications can use to anonymously and securely send messages to each other. Possible uses include anonymous surfing, chatting, blogging and file transfers.

 4. Virtual Private networks 

Another way to access a blocked websites is using Virtual Private networks (VPN). It helps user browse internet with a more secure connection and browse the internet as if they were situated in that country. Some services are offered for a monthly fee, others are ad-supported. For free service, you need to install their software. VPN can help you to make sure you get a secure connection using a public wifi too. Here are some example of free VPN.

5. DNS IP Addresses

Another way to access block website is with a DNS IP address. For the record, it Does Not make your internet browsing fast. Domain Name System (DNS) is a phone book for our Internet Ip addresses. You'll need to key in or change the DNS ip addresses. Google Public DNS is a free, global Domain Name System (DNS) resolution service, that you can use as an alternative to your current DNS provider.

Here are some step by step on how to access/ bypass the blocked websites.

Changing DNS server settings on Microsoft WINDOWS XP

Right Click on the Active Internet Connection that you are currently using.

• To change the settings for an Ethernet connection, right-click Local Area Connection, and click Properties.
• To change the settings for a wireless connection, right-click Wireless Network Connection, and click Properties.

Taadaaa! and youre Done! :)

Changing DNS server settings on Microsoft WINDOWS 7

Right click on your Active internet connection you are currently using.

Switching back to your old DNS settings

If you had not previously configured any customized DNS servers, to switch back to your old settings, in the window in which you specified the Google IP addresses, select the option to enable obtaining DNS server addresses automatically, and/or delete the Google IP addresses. This will revert your settings to using your ISP's default servers.
If you need to manually specify any addresses, use the procedures above to specify the old IP addresses.
If necessary, restart your system.

I recommend using megavideo to stream your movie/ tvshow as it is much faster compared to the others. Its been a few years since I've downloaded a movie. Why waste your computer space when you can always watch the movie online over and over. Hence, risk of downloading the movie file that has virus attached to it.

UPDATE: Megavideo.com has been banned and taken down. Thus, best video host would be putlocker/vidxden/vidbux.


BTW, if your internet is slow. I strongly suggest you getting Unifi if youre an impatient streamer. I havent got mine yet cause my streamyx connection is already pretty fast- i dont need to wait for my movies to take time to buff. Unfortunately, at times- I do.

This comes to a conclusion, I've Finally done with this blogpost that has been pending for months!!

I'd say it was a so-so watch. If anything, i would say it reminds me of the movie No Strings Attached. Pretty much had the same plot/climax. So its kindda like watching it again but with a different cast.
One thing that attracted me to watch Friends With Benefits was the main cast- Justin Timberlake & Mila Kunis! They both looked very comfortable with each other. Almost too comfortable. ;)

Mila showed her lively optimistic character and Justin's voice that seem to 'crack' was very interesting. 

Zomg! one of the best parts were the Flash Mobs! Now that you dont find it in alot of movies. Flash Mobbed in the streets of NY and in the Grand Central Station.

Similiar to movie No Strings Attached staring Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman.


You'll see quite a number of scenes like this one above. Esp Mila & Justin BUTT NAKED! oh yeap ;)

The Smurfs Movie Review;

 Enjoyed myself like a little kid in the cinema. There was humour throughout the movie- everyone had a great laugh. This is also a very family oriented movie- young kids to senior adults would enjoy it too! It also had a great value in it- never underestimate someone or not trust/believe in them when they're your loved ones.

On the other hand, when youre in the working world, you should do things that makes you who you are, not just because it pleases the person up there- your boss. (Im not saying not to please your boss)  But just remember not to lose yourself in your work and do things that doesnt make you feel happy doing your job.

A person at any age would understand the story and could probably relate to it.

My throat felt a little lumpy at parts but I was too in the jolly mood to tear. You'll find a few touchy parts there. The main smurfs, which are Papa Smurf, Clumsy Smurf, Grouchy Smurf, Smurfette, Gutsy Smurf, Brainy Smurf all had their own differences but they worked together well as a family.

I honestly L O V E every one of the smurf. Each smurf had their fair amount of spotlight. Thats what i loved most about it.

Its definitely a must smurf! Hurry and smurf them in the cinemas when its official release on the 1st of September!

Oh yeah! Dont be so quick to leave the cinema hall. Be sure to be still in your seats even when the Director's name pops up at the end. Stay until the Cast List- thats where it Ends :)

Azrael the cat would've won the Best Expression Award if they had one. Even smarter than his master- Gargamel.

Something Borrowed Movie Review

*Happy Tears* Its been quite awhile since i've watched a chick flick and this was one hell of a chick flick alright. Since my plans was rescheduled to tomorrow, I decided to watch a movie this evening..

I know it was screening in the cinemas 3months ago but Im just not really the type that goes to cinema to watch chick flicks.

I usually take advantage of the cinema's great sound system for Action packed/ Thrillers yo!



My first impression watching the Trailer was that, 80% I'll be sure to like/enjoy the movie. Little did I know it wasnt just a Disney fairytale happy ending chick flick. (Not saying the movie dint have a happy ending or it did)

Something Borrowed Movie Review;

Certainly exceeded my expectations. Drama, Romance, Comedy- All in 1! Another great chick flick to stay in with your girls accompanied by marsh mellows dipped in hot chocolate. Im not saying it should only be for girls but guys that enjoys watching it with their girlfriend- why not? :)

The movie had just the right dose of humour here and there. The running time just about 2 Hours was fairly used; not to draggy nor too fast/short. My heart sank a few times (even felt like it was broken into pieces), tears rolled down my face cause it was that good. I could feel and (I guess) understood it in a way.

The plot will take you thru a roller coaster ride of emotions before its The End ;)

Friendship, Bestfriendship and Relationship- Which would you choose?

This is actually one of my fav cast/character in the movie. He is a little understated. He is the 'sweet guy'.

Harry Potter 7: Deathly Hallows Part 2 Movie Premier

this post has been pending since the night of the premier (11 July) and I decided to finish the rest of it and post it once and for all.

Firstly, I would like to thank TGV Cinemas for the premier passes! Brought along Shannen babe, Bro and his date- Claudia.
It was such a chaos at TGV Sunway yesterday. It was packed with Harry Potter fans- well, majority. And others that were there awaiting for the Harry Potter screening halls to be ready for seatings . Quite a number of HP fans were all dressed up for the premier- scars on their foreheads, black long robes/ trench coats, Gryffindor's coloured tie, etc etc..

I strongly suggest for those to watch the Part 1 before watching the Part 2 because you would be pretty much be like a deer in the headlights if you dont. So Part 1 may be lacking all the action paction (just wanted it to rhyme), but Part 2 is where its at! Part 1 allows you to understand the story and what its getting at. That resulted in the disapointment when there was hardly any Avada Kadavra flying outtve wands to kill people. So you Must watch Part 2 for the cherry on top!

Harry Potter 7; Deathly Hallows -PART 2 Movie Review

An epic finale it was. The Part 2 of the movie started with showing a tombstone of *ahem* that died in Part 1. It flashed back a little on what happened at Part 1 so you wouldnt get all blur. Some of the scenes were changed from the book but they still kept most of the important parts.
There was also some intense seat grabbing throughout the movie. This time round, the 'feel' for the movie was rather different, It somehow felt more raw maybe it was because of the unexpected climax. *daa daa da dahhh~ *
With it ending, I couldnt help myself but to tear like i did in Part 1 too. It really hit my emotions.
Finally, the "After >10 years" part, it was weird. They could have made Ron, Hermione & Harry looked much better if they made goblins that looks so convincingly real.
Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows went out in a big bang! and the BEST, i'd say!

Did i also mention that I finally notice, Hermione Granger (Emma Watson) looking so gorgeous throughout the whole of HP7?
The truth lies in the finale.
It is definitely worth the watch while its showing in the cinemas. Come on, its the Last & Final installment- YOU HAVE TO!
